Ancaster Church
It’s a fact: visiting a new church can be intimidating. At Ancaster Canadian Reformed Church, we want you to feel welcome and to experience the joy of knowing Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. Each Sunday we meet morning and afternoon to worship our Creator and Saviour. Though each of us is a sinner, God provides for the complete forgiveness of all our sins through the suffering, death, and resurrection of his Son Jesus Christ. The holy God accepts us in peace through faith in Jesus. We welcome you to join us in worship! If you already know Jesus Christ as your Saviour, that's great! You can join right in. If you are new to the Christian faith, that's okay too - come and learn and grow with us in God's grace!
What to Expect?
Every worship service is a special time when God brings his people (the church) together to meet with him. Through the minister, God speaks and his people respond with words of confession, songs of praise, prayer, and gifts for the needy. The centre of every worship service is listening to God speak to us at length through the preaching of the Bible, God's Word. The morning sermon is normally used to explain and apply one particular passage of the Bible, while the afternoon sermon normally explains the teachings of the Bible gathered from a variety of passages. Since the church has organized these teachings in a simple confession of faith called the Heidelberg Catechism, this confession is typically used as a guide for the afternoon sermon. Yet it is always the Word of God that is preached. Our worship services generally last an hour and twenty minutes.
